Stratford City Development
As one of the founding partners/members of Archide CZ Martin Knap acted as a building envelop and a building structure consultant and coordinator on the Stratford City Development project for Buchan Group International from 2007 until 2009. Stratford City Development (SCD) is a part of the East London development project and it was the main hub for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games complex. The Olympic village now forms a part of the community amenities of East London, accommodating flats, infrastructure and luxury sports grounds. In addition, there is the largest European shopping centre in SCD, connected to France and Central Europe by a high speed train. The total construction costs amounted to 1.5 billion GBP to build 300 shops, 95,000 m2 of office space, hotels with 267 premier and 350 standard rooms, 17 screens, 70 restaurants and bars and 5,000 parking spaces.
