Adding one classroom to the after-school club and premises for one class for preschool will definitely be the last phase of the primary school and preschool reconstruction in Vinoř, Prague. The attempts to find some existing spaces to cover these needs failed and thus the decision was made to build brand new buildings. The new building is situated in between the corridor connecting the preschool and primary school buildings, the later accommodating rooms for the after-school club. The new building is thus in the centre of gravity of both. Thus it was possible not to mix the complicated route systems. Both spaces have separate entrances. Additionally, it was necessary to address the different regimen of different age groups. A simple L-shaped building with transverse bearing walls built of Ytong blocks and single-cladding roof with bearing wooden beams were designed. In terms of design, the building aims to follow in the footsteps of the simple-design functionalist elements of school buildings from the 1920s and 1930s. The new building neighbours with the newly remodelled school kitchen building of the same height and thus there is a smooth connection between the styles of the preschool premises. Large windows that are necessary for buildings accommodating school activities represent a significant design element, intensified by colour accents in the glass panes.
