SMALL HOUSE PROJECT IN ATLIN, BC.
The Small House Project is situated in a small remote community of the Taku River Tlingit First Nation (population of 400), Atlin, British Columbia, Canada, Alaskan region and has been sponsored by the Taku River Tlingit First Nation economic department. As part of the project, young people were able to take a course and obtain a Yukon Carpenters Union certificate. The objective of the project was to build 3 model residential units for the target group of seniors and young couples as their first residence. The house structures were prefabricated in a workshop and later moved to the property. The size of an individual living unit is 36m2.
